Different types of removable orthodontic appliances and braces with their advantages

An orthodontic appliance refers to device used for adjusting the shape and alignment of teeth and jaw structure. All together there are variety of orthodontic appliances of different style and size depending upon the problem which is corrected with it. Orthodontic braces appliances are the most commonly used, it is small ceramic or metal bracket attached at the center of the teeth additionally a metal wire crosses through it and this pushes the teeth thus helping in straightening and positioning it properly.

Another important advantage of using orthodontic appliances is that it protects the teeth and jaws during physical activity, sports etc. Removable orthodontic appliances such as night guard, is placed over teeth at night and prevents teeth from deshaping.
